There have been a large number of toy recalls in recent weeks due to lead paint in the products.  Other recalls have been due to parts or construction that pose a danger to small children.

We take child and toy saftey VERY seriously.  Rest assured that NONE of the products we carry at The Surprise Inside contain lead. We have verified with all of our manufacturers that they have done the proper testing and that they have paperwork on file.  Many of our suppliers, such as Melissa & Doug, Jack Rabbit Creations, Maileg and Mudpuppy are smaller companies that follow a guideline even stricter than that of the established standards.  When we choose children's items for our store, among our top considerations are:

• Does this product have any parts that are unsafe for children?
  
• Is the quality of construction high enough to meet OUR standards?
  
• Does this product promote educational and/or motor development?
  
• Is this a useful item for both child and parent?
  
• What is the care and maintenance needed for this product?
  
• Would I buy this for my own child?
  
  

We screen our products with care.
